JEREMY HOARE PHOTOGRAPHY

LECTURES & WORKSHOPS

I give workshops about the visually creative subjects I have been connected with during my career; travel, photography, television camerawork and television lighting, all illustrated using my own images in PowerPoint presentations.

“Travel Photographer Of The Year” I have given several talks and workshops for the TPOTY Festival of Photography at the Royal Geographical Society and I am also a judge of this major annual international competition for amateurs and professionals.

"Through the Viewfinder", talks connected to my book about how to operate a television camera at the New Zealand Broadcasting School in Christchurch New Zealand and at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Perth Australia.

"Through The Viewfinder", a talk about what was then my forthcoming book about the principles of television camerawork at Ravensbourne College of Design & Communication.

"Addicted to Light", two lectures about how to take pictures for publication and how I work as a travel photographer and a workshop on “Video for Travel” for the British Guild of Travel Writers in London.

"Kingdom of Tonga", life in the South Pacific's only monarchy for an Asia Pacific Studies Course at Nottingham Trent University.

"Japan Today", given to art students at four schools in Belfast and Coleraine in Northern Ireland on behalf of the London based Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation.

My partner, Chizuko Kimura, is from the cultural capital of Japan, Kyoto. She is both a Urasenke tea master and a kimono maker and I assist her by writing and presenting tea ceremony performances and kimono demonstrations at venues in the UK. Chizuko is now also a photographer selling her images through several online photo libraries.
